A Tale of Two Weddings

Italian Church Host of Pornographic movie

I really don't know what to say about this. The priest there simply claimed "We thought they were shooting a wedding scene." Forgive my cynicism, but the priest is either very naieve, or flat out lying. Where were Church Authorities to monitor what was going on? Anytime I've ever held a function at any Church, be it Novus Ordo or Traditional, there were always some Church reps there to make sure everything went ok.

While the Novus Ordo priest "reconsecrates" the place, perhaps he should offer some prayers to God for all the other defilings that have gone on in the sanctuary over the years.

7 Stupid Wedding Mistakes Even Smart Couples Make

What do you think of the title? I don't have a list of 7 wedding mistakes, just thought it was cool :)

More Wedding Bell Blues
This morning my mom called in a tizzy. She says my brother has been coming down very hard on her with this wedding stuff. He was upset that she hadn't yet rented tuxes for our younger brothers (Um... the wedding's a month away... and why is that my mom's responsibility?). Apparently, according to wedding etiquette, the groom's parents are in charge of planning the "rehearsal dinner." I didn't even know there was such a thing as a rehearsal dinner (Mark my words: If I ever get married, there will be none of this hoopla)!

Burn, Baby, Burn! Not only is my mom supposed to plan and fund this event, now the bride is insisting that my mom send out invitations for it as well. My mom recently lost her job, and is furiously looking for work. She doesn't have time (or money) for all of this stuff. Not to mention all of the wedding showers the bride is asking her to attend (which of course, always take place at the bride's home... a four hour drive from my parents' house). My mom couldn't attend the last one, and the bride made a big fuss.

I just want to call my brother up and tell him, "Look, I know this is your special day and all. You want everything to be perfect. And we're all happy for you. But you're being a real asshole. This is YOUR wedding. Not mom's. Not mine. If you are that worried about stuff not getting done, then you should really do it yourself." I'm sure I'll end up calling him and saying something like, "Go easy on mom, ok?" or something equally wussy instead, though. It was so much easier to fight with him when we were kids.

So there you go at least one mistake above to avoide, don't expect others to do all the work for your wedding.

Summer Weddings in the Diocese

Today was just crazy at the tribunal. It seems like all the requests for dispensations for summer weddings in the diocese came in at once, s...
