Today was just crazy at the tribunal. It seems like all the requests for dispensations for summer weddings in the diocese came in at once, so I did very little but collect, read, process and prepare dispensations all day. As far as canon law is concerned, I'm burned out.
Most of my friends who are canonists are in the same boat. It is always our busiest time before Easter (when you work long hours to get cases resolved before Easter and Pentecost, when converts come into the Church) and before summer (when you have to get everything ready for summer weddings) Easter came pretty late this year. Add to this the big pedophile scandal, and most canonists feel stretched to the limit.
I'm looking forward to summer when things slow down. It will be nice to see my family again.
